Privacy Policy
This page explains what information calcmyroof.com collects when you use it, why, and the choices you have. The short version: we use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used, the calculators run entirely in your browser, and there is no form on the site that collects your details.
Who we are
calcmyroof.com publishes free roofing calculators and roofing cost guides for homeowners in the United States. You can reach us by email at contact@calcmyroof.com, or through the contact page.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages people visit and how they use them, so we can tell which calculators and guides are useful and which need work. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies in your browser. It can collect information such as the pages you view, how long you stay, the approximate area you are visiting from, the type of device and browser you use, how you arrived at the site, and interactions such as scrolling and clicking links to other websites.
We use this information in aggregate, to understand the site’s audience as a whole. We do not use it to identify you personally.
Google processes this information under its own policies. Google explains how it uses information from sites that use its services, including Google Analytics, on its page How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
Calculators
The calculators on this site do their arithmetic in your browser. The measurements, roof sizes, dates and dollar amounts you type into them are not sent to us or stored by us.
Quote request forms
The site does not currently have a form for requesting quotes from local roofers. If one is added and connected to a contractor network, we will first update this policy to explain what information it collects, who receives it and why, and the form itself will say so.
Emails you send us
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it only to reply to you and to fix anything you report. We do not add you to a mailing list or share your message with anyone else.
Server logs
Like most websites, the servers that host and deliver this site may keep standard technical logs, such as IP addresses, browser type and the pages requested, for security and to keep the site running.
Your choices
- You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site’s calculators and guides work without them.
- Google offers a Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on that stops your visits from being used by Google Analytics.
What we do not do
- We do not sell personal information.
- We do not ask visitors to create an account.
- This site is written for adult homeowners and is not directed at children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If what we collect changes, for example if a quote request form is added, we will update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect.
